Olivia Vann’s career in project management has taken her from the biotechnology industry to the entrepreneurial world of technology startups, to her current position at Columbia College. Her role as a project manager allows her to collaborate with groups across the institution, and calls for the ability to communicate well with not only her team, but also a variety of stakeholder and vendor partners.
Olivia graduated from the University of Missouri with her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Ag Economics before earning her MBA. More recently, she obtained her Yellow Belt LEAN Six Sigma certification, and is currently working towards her Project Management Professional certification, which she plans to earn in 2018. Olivia is an active member of the PMI Mid Missouri Chapter and its Columbia Networking lunches. She is currently helping to plan the networking events for the PMI Professional Development Day in October.
Olivia is passionate about helping others turn their ideas into actuality, as shown by the startup, 2BuyAg, which she co-developed and manages. She brought that same energy to Columbia College and is collaborating with the team to grow the organization’s project management structure and maturity. She enjoys volunteering in the community, such as with her young adult group at Our Lady of Lourdes. She is involved with coordinating the groups’ activities, outreach to potential members, and communication of all events to members of the group as well as to the Parish asa whole.
