PMs in the AM: How a Trustworthiness Methodology Differs from a Software Methodology

Business Acumen

Session Description:

For decades, project teams have relied on agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies to guide project delivery. While these approaches provide structure for managing work, they often place primary emphasis on processes, tools, and outputs rather than the trustworthiness of the people and culture behind them. This session introduces a trustworthiness-centric approach to project management that focuses on creating environments where competence, honesty, dependability, and benevolence become key drivers of project success.

Through discussion and real-world examples, attendees will explore how trust influences team performance, stakeholder relationships, accountability, and organizational outcomes. Participants will gain insight into how a trustworthiness-centric methodology differs from traditional software-centric approaches and how project leaders can intentionally shape cultures that encourage trust, transparency, and long-term success.

What You Can Expect to Learn:

  • Understand the key differences between trustworthiness-centric and software-centric project management methodologies.
  • Learn how competence, honesty, dependability, and benevolence can be used as practical tools for building stronger project teams and workplace cultures.
  • Explore ways to identify and address behaviors that undermine trust and project success.
  • Discover how trust-focused approaches can improve project outcomes, team engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Gain practical ideas for creating environments where accountability, collaboration, and trust become sustainable organizational habits.
